Sigma BC 1909 STS Triple Wireless Bicycle Speedometer Review

Sigma BC 1909 STS Triple Wireless Bicycle Speedometer Feature

  • Triple wireless bicycle computer ideal for cyclists in training
  • Displays current speed, average speed, and maximum speed
  • Countdown timer, stopwatch, and riding time calculator
  • Measures actual, average, and maximum heart rate
  • PC-compatible; temperature display; adjustable to 2 wheel sizes
Dynamic, sporty, and elegant, the Sigma BC 1909 STS triple wireless bike computer is ideal for fitness-minded cyclists who place a high emphasis on measuring heart rate and calories burned. The BC 1909 STS, which is adjustable to fit two wheel sizes, displays your current speed, average speed, and maximum speed, so you'll have a good idea whether you're the tortoise or the hare on the bike trail. You can also compare your current and average speed on the same screen, or check the trip distance and total distance (the latter is only available after your ride). The computer even offers a programmable trip section counter, a roadbook that lets you create a back-and-forth itinerary.

The BC 1909 STS's HR functions include ECG-precise measurements of your actual, average, and maximum heart rate, along with a zone alarm that tells you when you're exceeding or falling below your target heart rate. In the process, the computer keeps track of your calories burned thus far. The BC 1909 STS also includes a number of time-specific functions, including a countdown timer that's perfect for racing against the clock; a stopwatch that keeps you sharp on intervals; a display for elapsed and total riding time (the latter is only available after your ride); and a time-keeping clock. And serious cyclists can opt to use the cadence functions (current and average), which help you ride efficiently both on the road and in the woods. You can also turn off the cadence functions while riding.

The BC 1909 STS is versatile in other ways, too, with the ability to automatically recognize a second bike. That means you can gauge the total distance and ride time of either or both bikes, a handy option for couples or friends who train together. Other features include a temperature display, seven language settings, a backlight, a battery status display, and a backup function that preserves your settings and info even when the battery dies. The PC-compatible BC 1909 STS is also available in a wired version. The BC 1909 Triple wireless speedometer is for all fitness-minded cyclists who place particular emphasis on heart rate and calories. Includes 1 settable HR zone and temperature.

About Planet Bike
In November 1996, Planet Bike was founded in Madison, WI. In many ways, Planet Bike began as a social experiment that dedicated itself to doing business in a different way. Instead of being just another company that develops and sells products with profit as its end goal, Planet Bike wanted to help bring about positive change for people, their communities, and the environment.

Despite being a simple machine, the people at Planet Bike have always believed that the bicycle has great potential to help improve the world and the lives of the people in it. From the start, they have embraced an alternative corporate purpose which seeks to help get more people on bicycles by making communities friendlier places for the self-propelled. By donating 25% of company profits to causes that promote and facilitate bicycle usage, Planet Bike hopes to make an impact.

Social experiments aside, Planet Bike was born from the heart of a cyclist with a goal of making innovative, high-quality, and practical bicycle accessories. Simply put, the company strives to design and develop the best bicycle products in the world. In the company's short 10-year history, it has made important product innovations within the bicycle industry. Advancements include the four-line computer which is now a standard in the industry and the world's first self-contained HID light. Not bad for a company that 10 years ago started as a one-man operation. Today, while still a small company, Planet Bike continues to evolve and improve its product line with the goal of always striving to build accessories that make it easier for people to ride their bikes. Since 1996, Planet Bike's financial support of the grassroots bicycle movement has totaled 0,000. By 2010, they have made a goal to donate million to organizations that are dedicated to making America a friendlier place for cyclists.

Polar CS600 Cycling Computer

Polar CS600 Cycling Computer Review

Polar CS600 Cycling Computer Feature

  • Handlebar-mounted cycling computer for advanced riders
  • Compatible with W.I.N.D. Power Sensor, combining heart rate monitoring and power output measurement
  • Large customizable display showing four separate elements of information
  • Smooth and aerodynamic case design made from tough reinforced polycarbonates for maximum durability
  • Estimated Time of Arrival feature based on your cycling speed
Designed for demanding cyclists, the Polar CS600 cycling computer enables you to track the most important data from your training rides with wireless sensors. The CS600 incorporates a comprehensive feature set combining measurements for time, speed, distance, altitude, and incline as well as cadence (with optional sensor). You can prepare a detailed training program with the included Polar ProTrainer 5 software (for Windows). It can also be used with the optional Polar Power Sensor W.I.N.D. wireless transmitter, which offers 2.4 GHz disturbance-free transmission and an aerodynamic design (another version of the CS600 includes the W.I.N.D. transmitter). Features include:

  • Polar W.I.N.D transmission technology (compatible, not included): 2.4 GHz coded transmission for disturbance-free connections from wireless speed, cadence and power sensors and WearLink heart rate transmitter.
  • Large customizable display showing four separate elements of information. Two timeline trend graphs can be displayed simultaneously providing "at-a-glance" feedback during exercise.
  • Smooth and aerodynamic case design made from tough reinforced polycarbonates for maximum durability.
  • Polar OwnIndex Fitness Test calculates aerobic fitness (comparable to maximal oxygen uptake, VO2max) providing a reference to base training intensity and measure improvement.
  • Target heart rate zones with visual and audible alarms (three each)
  • Graphical comparison of heart rate and speed
  • Heart rate measurements: maximum of total and each lap, average of total
  • Automatic lap recording (up to 99 laps) with exercise date
  • Exercise file info page with date and time
  • Semi-automatic backlighting
  • Water resistance to 10 meters (protects against rain and splashes)
  • Polar OwnOptimizer: Shows the status of training load to help you find the perfect balance between training and recovery.
  • Cycling Efficiency Index: Improvement in cycling efficiency (your energy expenditure converted into the power that propels the bike forward) indicates improved economy of cycling performance.
  • Incline Measurement: Provides uphill or downhill steepness in percentages and grades calculated from altimeter data. Numerical information helps you to track your cycling effort accordingly.
  • SpeedPointer: Points out the difference between average speed/pace and actual speed/pace on the display by up/down arrows.
  • Estimated Time of Arrival: Set the distance you are going to ride, and your cycling computer calculates the estimated time of arrival based on your cycling speed.
  • Polar OwnCal: Shows your energy expenditure during one exercise session as well as your accumulated kilocalories during several exercise sessions. Because the OwnCal tracks both the energy expenditure during one exercise session and the accumulated kilocalories during a longer time e.g. one week, it helps in achieving both short term and long term goals.
  • Cycling Economy/Intensity: Enables you to foresee your calorie expenditure and secure sufficient intake on a long ride. This feature is also useful for comparing and analyzing the loads of various training types.

About Polar
The first EKG accurate wireless heart rate monitor was invented by Polar back in 1977 as a training tool for the Finnish National Cross Country Ski Team. The concept of "intensity training" by heart rate swept the athletic world in the eighties. By the 1990s, individuals were looking to heart rate monitors not only for performance training needs, but also for achieving everyday fitness goals. Today, the same concept of heart rate training is being used by world-class athletes as well as everyday people trying to lose weight. Polar is the leading brand among consumers, coaches, and personal trainers worldwide and the company is committed to not only producing the best products, but also being the leading educator on the benefits of heart rate based exercise.

The CS600 is for both the professional cyclist and for the cyclist who wants to ride with the best.

ABOUT FILZER

Filzer. It's more than a brand.

Filzer is a lifestyle. Filzer is a solution. Filzer is value.

That's a pretty big line to talk, but Filzer has been delivering the goods on its ever-growing range of products since 2002. What began as a philosophy (make useful, high-quality products at an affordable price), has evolved into an entire product line of inventive solutions for daily living.

Cycling computers, bicycle tools, pumps, lights, stainless steel water bottles, and more... wherever you go in the Filzer product line, you can count on two things: quality and value.

Whatever life you lead, value counts. Filzer keeps the cost factor down and the quality consistently high. How? By going directly to factories to cut out all the middle men and counting on your satisfaction and word of mouth.

We like to think about business a bit differently. When you buy Filzer, you aren't paying for the brand. You're enjoying it.

Filzer: it fills a gap in the market between big marketing budgets with over-hyped products and cheap, poorly made knock-offs. With Filzer, the goods are great and the value is the bottom line.

Suunto Vector HR Wristop Computer Watch

Suunto Vector HR Wristop Computer Watch Review

Suunto Vector HR Wristop Computer Watch Feature

  • Heart rate monitor with Suunto Comfort Belt
  • Altimeter
  • Barometer
  • Compass
  • Multiple watch, date, and alarm functions

A large, crisp, easy-to-read face displays detailed training information.
The Suunto Vector HR is a sports training tool designed for peak mountaineering performance, whether you're already on the mountain or training to get there. Armed with an altimeter, barometer, electronic compass, and heart rate monitor, you'll have the information you need to make responsible decisions in the great, vertical outdoors.

Heart Rate Measurement
It's not just the external conditions that matter when you're climbing. What's going on inside your body can make the difference between a great adventure and an unpleasant ordeal. With the Vector HR, you can set heart rate zone alarms to let you know when your heart rate is climbing faster than you are, or when your training regimen is too easy.

Training for a climb with the HR monitor gives you an objective measure of exertion, whether you're doing a long, steady hike, or short intervals of intense bursts of energy in the gym. You'll also be able to avoid overtraining by monitoring your resting HR first thing in the morning.

Suunto Comfort Belt
Made from soft textile materials, the Suunto Comfort Belt comes equipped with unique traction strips to keep it in place, eliminating the need to over-tighten. The thin length-adjustment buckles minimize the risk of friction and abrasions, allowing you to train with minimal interruption. The Suunto Comfort Belt features a closing buckle conveniently located in the front, which also doubles as an easy-to-reach key for the battery cover.

Altimeter
The altimeter features a range up to 29,500 feet, measures vertical speed, and works with the heart rate monitor so you can see the physiological impact of both altitude and vertical rate of movement. You can set altitude alarms to remind you when you're reaching another limit, while the automatic 24-hour memory stores the altitude and ascent/descent rate for every hour, and lets you record other intervals. With the logbook, you can see and compare all of your ups and downs as it records your total and cumulative vertical ascents and descents.

Barometer
The Suunto Vector HR displays real-time barometric pressure and temperature, giving you a heads-up on weather conditions. Check the weather trend graph or the past four days' barometric data, which is recorded automatically. When the reference altitude is set correctly, the instrument also shows the present sea level pressure, making it easier for you to read and understand the barometric pressure at high altitudes.

Compass
The digital compass guides you with cardinal or half-cardinal points and a north-south arrow. Set the compass to track a bearing of your choosing, and your Suunto Vector HR helps you get around in unknown terrain. The declination adjustment function allows you to correct the difference between true north and magnetic north for a more accurate reading.

Time
The Suunto Vector HR displays the current time in 12- or 24-hour format, and includes three daily alarms and a calendar. Use the chronograph to support your training sessions with the split-time stopwatch, countdown timer, and interval timer.

Warranty
Suunto products include a limited manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship of two years for sports instruments and heart rate monitors, and one year for accessories such as heart rate monitors, chargeable batteries, chargers, docking stations, straps, cables, and hoses.

About Suunto
Suunto is a leading designer and manufacturer of sports precision instruments for diving, training, mountaineering, hiking, skiing, sailing, and golf.
